Comic-Con is only weeks away but to tide you over the San Diego Public Library will be partnering with Comic-Con International to present “The Art of Comic-Con,” opening this Saturday.
For more than four decades Comic-Con has been celebrating as well as creating awareness of, and appreciation for, comics and the popular arts. Recently, Comic-Con and the San Diego Public Library have been collaborating on projects such as a Comic-Con Book Club. Now, Library Arts and Culture Exhibition Manager Kara West is “geeking” out about the library’s new exhibit.
“It’s very exciting,” West said at the ninth floor gallery. “We are about to open the ‘Art of Comic-Con,’ it’s unprecedented access to art that is actually owned by Comic-Con. It is art that was created over their 45-year history.”
