Gary Kurtz, Will Eisner, Brad Bird (I think)
I knew that Disney Pixar animator Brad Bird tried and failed to get an animated version of Will Eisner’s The Spirit produced several years ago, but couldn’t get an interview with him to get the details when I wrote Will Eisner: A Spirited Life, a biography by Bob Andelman. So it was quite cool to hear him fill in the details in this podcast/radio conversation with Elvis Mitchell on KCRW’s “The Treatment.” Didn’t realize Mitchell, who is a consulting producer on The CW’s Black Lightning was himself such an Eisner fan!
